Education

Christel House South Africa provides rigorous curriculum, and instruction takes place in English, even though most of our students arrive speaking only Xhosa or Afrikaans. Mastery of core subjects—especially languages and mathematics—is at the heart of our program. We distinguishes ourselves from other schools in that we provide a longer teaching day, from 8:00 till 5:00. Extra classes are offered on Saturday and during school holidays to ensure that learners have the best chance of succeeding academically. As a result, Christel House students overcome language barriers, and distinguish themselves academically.

The learning center follows the National Curriculum (OBE) and is affiliated and registered with the Western Cape Department of Education, as well as the Independent Schools Association of South Africa. In addition, Christel House voluntarily undertakes a rigorous annual audit of its curriculum and teaching methodology. The intent of these audits is to ensure that best practices in teaching are pursued in the classroom and that fair and equitable admission policies and processes are in place.
